Canada is banning single-use plastics, including checkout bag, cutlery, flexible straw, foodservice ware, ring carrier, stir stick, straw

According to foreign media reports, Canada intends to comprehensively restrict the production, import and sale of plastic products. The ban was previously planned to be implemented in 2021, but was postponed due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. The time plan for the ban is: to ban the sale of the above six types of plastic products by the end of next year, and to ban exports by the end of 2025. Due to medical needs, some products are exempted.
It is reported that in June 2022, Canada issued SOR/2022-138 “Single-use Plastic Ban Regulations”, which prohibits the production, import and sale of 7 types of disposable plastic products in Canada. Except for some special exceptions, the manufacture and import of these disposable plastic products are prohibited. The policy on non-toxic plastics will come into force in December 2022.
According to the decree, the categories involved include:
1)checkout bag
3)flexible straw
4)foodservice ware
5)ring carrier
6)stir stick
